New Volvo Penta Compact Engine Series

Production has started on the new series of compact engines to replace today's current series of compact engines. The new series will comply with the EPA Tier 3 emission regulations which become effective 1 January 2009. Almost all changes are internal and provide better control over fuel injection and combustion. External changes to the engines will be minimal, and in most cases will not impact installation requirements.

 

The new engine series will be designated "F" and will carry new specification numbers as follows:

D1-20F  869644

D1-30F  869645

D2-40F  869646

D2-55F  869647

D2-75F  869648

 

Inventory management at Volvo Penta will phase in orders for the new series engines as we exhaust prior series and all old series of any model wil be shipped from inventory before any new series ship. Hopefully, all older series will be exhausted by the 1st of January 2009.
